South Washington County Schools ACCESS (Adult/College/Career/English Language/Skills/Services) Program and Hastings Public Schools, are pleased to announce the creation of a new Consortium, merging the two Adult Basic Education entities into one, in the 2018-19 school year. The Consortium, Great Rivers Adult Education Consortium, will serve parts of Washington County and Dakota County for Adult Basic Education classes.

Programming offered by the new Consortium will include; adult family literacy, free computer classes, English as a Second Language and Career and College Prep classes for adults, GED/Diploma/College Prep and Life Skills classes, Paraprofessional Prep for Paraprofessionals, and Credit Recovery for grades 9-12 (ISD833 only).

Expanding from their previous locations, Great Rivers Adult Education Consortium will now include the following site locations:

  • The District Program Center (DPC) in Cottage Grove
  • Central Park Library (Woodbury)
  • Washington County Workforce Centers
  • Century College
  • Dakota Career and Technical College
  • Tilden Center (Hastings)
  • Dakota County Jail (Hastings)
  • Park Grove Library (Cottage Grove)

South Washington County Schools will act as the fiscal agent for the consortium. This means that we will do all required state reporting and collect all State Aid for the consortium and District 833 teachers will serve both member districts. Management of the program will be the responsibility of the Community Education Directors from each district and Susie Evans, Program Manager.
